Sporting Group International (SGI) has entered a new strategic partnership with Spanish La Liga Hypermotion club Deportivo de La Coruña, with the aim of driving the club’s international expansion and commercial development.

Founded in 1906, Deportivo de La Coruña is one of Spain’s most iconic football institutions -  as well as being in an exclusive group of clubs to have ever won the La Liga title. Through the agreement, SGI will work with Deportivo to build strategic alliances, unlock new revenue opportunities and strengthen the club’s presence in key overseas markets, with a particular focus on Japan.

Diego Pesque, SGI’s Country Manager Spain, said:

“In the current global context of football, expanding internationally is essential for clubs to stay financially healthy and competitive. Reaching fans and markets beyond our own country allows for new revenue opportunities, strengthens the brand, and sets clubs up for long-term success. We are proud to be part of Deportivo’s journey back to LaLiga EA Sports and excited to help bring the club, the fans and the city back to where they truly belong”.

Massimo Benassi, Deportivo de La Coruña’s Chief Executive Officer, added:

“At Deportivo de La Coruña, we are committed to building a strong future for the club both on and off the pitch. Partnering with SGI allows us to open new doors internationally, attract fresh opportunities and showcase the passion of our fans to the world. Together, we aim to accelerate our journey back to LaLiga and ensure that the club, the city and our supporters take their rightful place among the elite of Spanish football.”

Deportivo de La Coruña joins a growing portfolio of elite football clubs represented by SGI. With presence in Spain, Italy, Japan and India, SGI brings a wealth of experience in delivering high-impact commercial partnerships for clubs, venues, brands, and federations across global sport.
